That's what Elliott does now. He's too big to get into the small bathroom sink anymore, so he just shoves his head under the dribbling water and lets it run down his nose into his gaping maw.
We call him "wet head" and make fun of him for it. He doesn't seem to mind.
The description didn't say how HOT it was, did it?? Personally I think either the cat is playing or he's DAMN DEHYDRATED!! Our cat never drinks that much...
As far as being dumb, yeah, he should put his butt on the drain and then he'd have plenty of water to drink!! :-)
