Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 9 March 2010
Dr. Orly files a reply that might equal her reply to Judge Land in "how not to act in court". Things aren't going well for Hemenway, though Berg is also told to butt out. The defendants in the Kerchner v Obama case appeal show the flaws that caused the case to be denied in the first place. Dr. Orly is still trying to get Damon Dunn from usurping her place on the ballot, World Nut Daily wants their own conservative conference, Sharon Meroni has another case denied, and the Fantasy Tiddlywinks League tells us more about their road trip. Chris Strunk is still trying to graft himself onto Dr. Orly's case, and GOP reps in Ohio are playing flirty games with the birthers.
And something about Dr. Orly's reply. I think she knows damn well this is her last hurrah in the courts. There's no way she's getting out of Judge Land's sanctions, she feels her license to practice law is being investigated, and that her bid to run for office is going nowhere. This is intolerable for a drama and attention whore like Dr. Orly, so she's rolling the dice to be as crazy and outrageous as possible to try and stay in the limelight for has long as possible. And if she can be "martyred" financially or professionally, all the better.
I don't expect her to go away anytime soon. I expect her to ratchet up the crazy in an attempt to force the courts to take further action against her, that she can then exploit among her followers.
