Cool Harpy Tasty Stuff
Apr. 4th, 2004 08:04 pmSaturday, went to Sylvia Woods Harp Center in Glendale, because I wanted to play and hear the new harps by the Tasty Harp Company, the Harpsicle and the Sharpsicle, (or as
caprine calls them, the "iHarp".)
You know, they have a really nice feel and tone to them. Oh, they don't have the projection power of my Triplett Axline, but they really don't need them. They're lightweight, (4.5 pounds), with a 3 1/2 octave range. I played one sitting down on the floor, sitting on a bench, and standing up, (using a shoulder strap)! The tone almost makes it sound like a 26 string guitar.
I like the Sharpsicle the most, but that's because I happen to like sharpening levers. And there's something amusing about playing a purple harp....... ;-)
