Some more info on Hans Zeiger here. It's interesting to note what he's doing is trying to scrub the internet of his past opinions and beliefs, which seems to be more a marketing ploy than anything else.
For example, here's what he felt about public schools:

That’s right, this GOP candidate thinks that the nearly century-old organization has been brainwashing your children by feeding them lesbian abortion cookies, according to a statement that was found from earlier this decade:One might wonder why the Girl Scouts have been spared the painful attacks that have been launched upon the Boy Scouts by the Left in recent years. The reasons are simple: the Girl Scouts allow homosexuals and atheists to join their ranks, and they have become a pro-abortion, feminist training corps. … If the Girl Scouts of America can’t get back to teaching real character, perhaps it will be time to look for our cookies elsewhere.”

Date: 2010-09-10 02:08 am (UTC)I'm willing to bet he's not aware of the fact that receiving your Gold Award in Girl Scouts is also a *higher* honor then being an Eagle Scout... at least, according to every U.S. military service - Gold Award recipients can enter the military at a higher rank then Eagle Scouts.

Date: 2010-09-10 07:54 pm (UTC)According to recruitment manuals for the US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, and USMC, both Eagle Scouts and Gold Award holders will get promoted to E-2 upon completion of basic. Which suggests that the US military sees both awards as equal for purposes of recruitment.
On edit - completion of 2 or more years of high school JROTC gets an E-3 upon completion of basic.
