Weekend home

patgundHave a weekend in San Diego this time around. So going to take advantage of it by working on my costuming, (like trying to figure out how in bloody hell the hard hat liner is suppose to attach to my TIE helmet. grumble)
Supposed to be in Oceanside saturday for a costume workshop. A few months ago I managed to get 12 yards of off-white linen for $1.19 a yard. Well, I dyed it last night, 6 packages of dark green RIT dye, 6 cups of salt, and 40 minutes of soaking in the dyebath later, it's a lovely shade of green. Not quite as dark as I had planned, but I think it looks better than planned. Also redoing the pockets on my flightsuit. Nice to be back behind a sewing machine.)
This is starting to look like I'll have two SW costumes done by ComicCon. (Friday at the Con is supposed to be Star Wars day, with Lucasfilm bringing to the con a blortload of goodies.) If I can find a place that sells forest green flightsuits, I may try for a third.
Also a new media backup weekend, so I may be in and out of my office at times during the weekend. Basically bring a couple of DVD's and watch movies while monitoring backups. Oh yeah, and try not to go out of my mind with boredom. Hell, catch me on the webcam and watch the SysAdmin in his native enviroment! Cringe at the inhumane conditions and life-threatening clutter! :-)
