No *What*??? (Politics)
May. 11th, 2004 10:32 amYou know, it almost scares me to know there are people who really think this way....
"No Presidential Elections during War Times"
"Holding Presidential elections during War times, ie.Iraq, Afghanistan is not productive to our country, we need to protect our troops and not put them in harms way,"
You know, we managed to have presidential elections during the War Between the States, not to mention World War II, and there was no problems. First time I've heard the idea that supporting the constitution and being an active democracy was somehow "putting the troops in harms way".

Date: 2004-05-11 11:07 am (UTC)I've seen this issue arise before. It is, of course, purest hogwash. I'd have to do the research, but I suspect the machinations necessary to suspend the election would bring on an impeachment trial. I think if it even -came up- out of the White House, the media would be all over Rove like ugly on an ape.

Thankfully, there's no way to do such between now and the next election - which gives us a chance to toss the unelected fraud out of office and try to reclaim this country from the NeoCon chickenhawks running it.
