Apple-Flavoured Penguin......
Jun. 9th, 2004 11:19 amI'm making this post on a Macintosh.
Well, anyone who knows me knows thats *NOT* unusual.
And it's my iBook. Unusual only so far as I usually use my "Hot-Rod" Pismo anymore. But not really that unusual.
No, what makes it unusual is that it's not running OS X.
Or OS 9. Or *ANY* version of Mac OS.
No, it's running Yellow Dog Linux, a version of Linux for PowerPC machines.
Used it on the wireless network here in the lab. No problems at all.
Though I think I may have earned bonus "geek points" with CS. I was using it to take notes at today's Tech Talk, and both the CIO for the institute and the head of network and IT services were amazed at seeing Linux on a Macintosh.
I'm amused.
