Yesterday was coughing up my lungs again, and generally showing every sign that the dammed cough was returning to haunt me.

However, I failed to take into account one little point of data.

Namely that we've got a thrice-be-dammed Santa Ana wind going on.

Which means the pollen and dust count is up, all on that dry, hot, nasty desert wind.

Which means my asthma and allergies are having a field day. Blegh.

Cold and Sinus Advil are my friends.

Are you on any of the prescription antihistamines? If not, I strongly recommend chatting with your doc; Zyrtec makes my life ever so much easier.

For that matter, there's always OTC Claritin. Not as strong, but better than nothing.

The recent San Diego Reader with the bees on the blue guy's face on the cover had an article about the local honey industry. One local beekeeper got into the business after discovering that eating honey produced near where he lived made his allergies go away completely. Apparently it works for asthma too. You may want to look into this.

An allergist I used to have recommended the same thing. Problem is *finding* local honey - even if you go to a country or roadside vendor, a lot of times the honey is a blend of honeys from local and non-local sources.

Still, it might be looking into again.
