Okay, next project after I come back from my road trip is this:

I need to find a new place to live.

Now, "home" for me the last few years has been a rented room in Lakeside, that I rent from relatives. Not an ideal situation, but had no need for something better.

Until now. I find I'm tired of a small room, I'm tired of my relatives. I'd like to find the following:

1) Either a small studio or one bedroom apartment, or

2) One or two largeish rooms to rent in a house, or

3) A "granny flat" type sub or semi-attached apartment.

Most areas of San Diego are open to debate, including remaining in East County, or a place in North County.

Anyone have any suggestions, or can keep their eyes open??

I recommend you go for #1, with #2 your last choice. Maximum independence, minimum interference from others - especially important since you'll want Little Bit spending time with you there.

(nods) #1, (and to a lesser extent #3), would be better. Problem is that the housing market in San Diego is so screwed up that I do need to keep options available. And if that means dealing with roomates, so be it

How much do you want to spend?
I found my last apt via the UT ads; the Reader's listings are also pretty good.
