Well, ignoring the fact that 98% of the music on my iPod is either from my own purchased CD's, or bought from the iTunes Music Store, it seems that I, (along with every other iPod owner) am a thief.

At least according to Microsoft's Steve Ballmer.....

"'iPod users are music thieves' says Ballmer".

""We’ve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is 'stolen'."

I think it's just rationalization for putting such stringent DRM code into the new versions of their operating systems. I guess Microsoft doesn't trust their users. No big surprise.

I have one "stolen" track on my iPod; it's a track not available on the music store, from a CD that I can't find for love or money on Amazon or in my local stores. I feel guilty about it, but not enough to delete it.

JOhn.

Shall we discuss with Ballmer where -they- got it from? Microsoft is one of the biggest thieves in the industry. Gods know the price of their software is a crime.

Pot . . . kettle . . . black
