(Friend) ....it's really hard to say if they're ever going to do a decent movie version of "Dragonriders of Pern".

(Me) It's possible they could do a good version, but it really depends on the studio and producer. In some hands, it would be really, really bad.

(Friend) Yeah, can you imagine how badly Disney would overdo it??

(Me) You mean other than the fact you'd see "P'te, rider of green Ellioth"??

(Friend) I'm going to have to hurt you now for that image......

I don't mean to imply that Everything that Disney touches it ruins. However, recently there isn't much hope for a decent outcome. Their translation of MononokoHime is actually good, though the fact they tried to ban all anime from the US audience except through them is not.
