The A&W in El Cajon had something new. Battered and deep fried white cheddar cheese curds.

They were okay, but way too rich and oily for my tastes.

Uhm....ick. Although if done CORRECTLY (as in, by Iron Chef White Trash) it might be more like mozzarella sticks.

Speaking of which...did you ask about their cheese curd supplier? Oaxaca works okay (I would use another brand of it next time though; the one we used tasted chemical to me) but proper cheese curds would make things better.

All they said was that they came pre-breaded from their supplier. A&W's website shows a big ad for them, so I suspect they're trying these things US-wide.
