Went to Canadian Cafe in Monrovia today, with
mysryael and Little Bit.
Oh. My. The food was very very good, the service could not have been friendlier, and the poutine was *wonderful*!! (I told them about Miso Poutine) Little Bit doesn't seem to share her Da's liking for Poutine though. :-/
Still, very good, fresh food, and massively friendly service.

The important bit was good time with the Little Bit.
(Some day, you'll have to explain "poutine" to me. I'm too lazy to Google it...and it always sounds better from another person as opposed to a dry recitation from a recipe book.)

I've heard of a couple varients. Such as Italian Poutine, (use a pizza sauce rather than the gravy), and Chinese Poutine, (use a sweet-and-sour sauce). The oddest sounding though was Miso Poutine, in which Miso soup is used in place of the gravy.
There's also vegan poutine, (use mushroom gravy and soy "cheese")

Food was respectable, prices were outstandingly reasonable
but the table was too short for the seating.
