*Click* "Hello, this is Avenger's Mansion, Jarvis speaking. How may I assist you?"
"Oh, hey Jarvis, can I please speak to Captain America??"
"Oh, I'm sorry, he's currently dead. Could you please call back next week, he should be available then??"
"Oh, okay, thanks!"

Date: 2007-03-12 08:23 pm (UTC)If Marvel is wise, they won't similarly attempt to milk Captain America for all he's worth. They'll either leave him dead or bring him back to life fairly quickly; again, if they're wise.
OTOH, if they can come up with a sufficiently different angle on it, it'll still be worth reading. There isn't a single story in the modern world that hasn't already been done hundreds of time by the ancient Greeks. (And that gives no credit to millenia of fireside story-tellers before there was writing.)
