....like blue.

Still smells smoky, and everything tastes like a bad BBQ potato chip. However, there are patches of blue sky overhead, and signs that things *might* be getting back to normal. We can hope.

Hopefully Julian is coming though it's fire danger.

[livejournal.com profile] blackflag669 has checked in, and her and [livejournal.com profile] ismarc are okay, and hopefully should be able to return to their house here in Lakeside soon.

Saturn of El Cajon is open, and my car should be finished today. Work has been closed for it's third day in a row now. Unknown if they'll pay us for those three days closed, or even if I'll get paid on time this friday. (Hope so, sunday is Little Bit's 2nd birthday)

(And yes [livejournal.com profile] presenze, we're all sending the smoke deliberately towards Las Vegas. As we speak, thousands of giant fans are set up in Victorville and Barstow, drawing all the smoke from the Grand Prix-Old fires in San Bernardino and sending it your way. You're welcome. ;-) )

San Francisco Gate has a rather sarcastic tounge-in-cheek article about "Secret Spells Barbie"

"Barbie The Hot Pagan Witch"

"SS Barbie apparently takes witchcraft about as seriously as, say, a hair barrette. About as seriously as the caulking on the Dream House. About as seriously as Ken's deeply repressed desire for a Barbie-size strap-on and a serious S&M whipping."

In the middle of all the SoCal Fire stuff, I didn't even find out about these bits of random stupidity until now.

First off, Shrub managed to follow up that assine "Protection of Marriage" week with "Protection from Pornography Week". Oh fricking puh-leze!! (Though observing this week with "appropriate programs and activities" could take on a whole new meaning......)

And second off, a batch of marriage counselors are calling mixed-gender relationships as a "form of emotional cheating". Say what???? So, just because the majority of my closest friends are female, then I'm somehow **cheating** on any primary relationship I'm in? Sorry, wrong! Come on, one of the reasons I wrote off the PlayHobbit as a possible interest was because she didn't feel anyone she was dating should have any female friends. (Okay, another reason was that she was dumber than dirt as well) Gag........

Okay, I will grant that any relationship of whatever type in which one feels the need to hide details from one's spouse/partner/significant other/whatever are signs of a problem in the main relationship. But just dinging someone because their close friends are of the opposite gender, (or, I suspect same gender if one is in a same-gender relationship), is bulldada.
