patgund: Knotwork (Pat Minifig)
A while back I mentioned this link in my LJ. (Think I originally got it from [livejournal.com profile] rosefox).

The IKEA Text Adventure Walkthough

Was reading though it again, and the first thing that came to my mind is "You're in a maze of twisty passages, all alike. You have just been eaten by a GRÜE sectional unit......"

Since [livejournal.com profile] selenite's an MIT grad, I thought he'd be amused by this report in the New York Times.

Rocket Scientist a Padre

San Diego pitcher Jason Szuminski became the first alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to make it to the majors.

Szuminski, 25, a right-hander who has a degree in aerospace engineering, is also a first lieutenant in the Air Force and has worked on satellite programs. After the Padres open the season at Los Angeles today, he will switch over to the active reserve tomorrow. In four minor league seasons, Szuminski (pronounced zoo-MIN-skee) was 23-12 with a 3.99 earned run average.

"I want to do more than just make it," he said. "I want to be able to pitch well and contribute to the team."

While in IKEA, Little Bit found a colourful children's swivel chair that has a clamshell canopy. The idea is that the child can pull the canopy down and have a little hidey-hole for them.

Aircraft buff that I am, I personally think it looks like a child's version of the escape capsules used on the B-58 and XB-70......

Got this organic butter flavoured spread at Whole Foods Market.

Consistancy was like butter-flavoured Jello.

And Butter-Flavoured Jello would have *tasted* better
