SoCal Curling Club

"Welcome to the information hub for curling in Southern California. Since the Los Angeles area is so large, we formed one large club with multiple chapters. This allows us to share information and revenue with a larger audience while remaining local to most people. We are doing our best to develop multiple curling locations across the Southland. Please browse around and learn about this wonderful sport and what we're doing to help it grow in SoCal."

So far they have locations in Ontario, Simi Valley, Bakersfield, and Escondido, and league play in Simi Valley and Ontario.

If I end up back in SoCal, I may want to give this a try......

First off, Doha is attempting to challenge Dubai as a "tourism hot-spot".

Is Qatar the Next Dubai?

Thing is this...

Dubai offers sand, sea.....indoor ski slopes, casinos, bars and alcohol, and fairly open prostitution. Bahrain offers sand, sea, alcohol, etc.

But Doha?? Sand and sea........and that's really about it. Very little here to challenge or interest the Western eye.

Not to be outdone, KSA is trying to promote themselves as a tourist destination (YEAH RIGHT!!!!!)

Saudis hope stones mystery will appeal to tourists

Hint to the House of Saud.....pull your kingdom out of the dark ages and your head out of your butts, then maybe you have a chance as a tourism spot. But as long as you treat non-Wahabists as idiots, non-Muslims as sub-humans, and treat women like camel dung, you're not going to be on many tourist destinations.

Actually, since the stones in question hint at pre-Islamic Goddesses and Gods, I'm quite surprised they're either not trying to ignore them, or "accidently" destroy them.......

As I said previously, I found three abandoned houses on June 3rd. Except #3 wasn't as abandoned as I thought. I shant post those pictures.

However, I got some lovely shots from #2. Since there's 12 total, I'll split them into two posts.

On to the house - and some greenery as well.......

NASCAR romance books a sign of the Apocalypse?

"Though you do, on occasion, get gems like this: "And this time when they kissed it wasn't gentle, it wasn't passive, it was a kiss that instantly proved the two of them were like high-octane fuel, their flesh sparking off each other in such a way that Lance felt the pure caveman urge to pick her up and carry her to bed. Except he wasn't in his own motor coach and so all he could do kiss her, snuggling his hips up against her, showing her what she did to him and how he wanted more."

Gentlemen, start your engines, indeed! I wonder which is more common: Thinking about gasoline while having sex, or thinking about sex while pumping gasoline?"
