So, when do we see a Zaku this size????

Bandai to sell giant Gundam

"Japan's biggest toy maker said the model, 1.5 meters tall and weighing 35 kg, will come with a price tag of 350,000 yen.

The model can move 14 body parts, including its arms, legs and finger joints, and can produce multiple sound effects, including the sound of rocket launchers.

The giant Gundam's owner can even make it blink its eyes via remote control."

0% for six months, then it ranges from 15.24% to 23.24%.

Maybe they also offer to reduce the percentage if your colony is wiped out in a Cylon attack........

I picked up a couple days ago, issues of "The Fantastic Four", "X-Men", and "Spider-Man".

In Arabic.

Yes, I am bringing them back with me. I'll see if I can get some scanner time in soon at work and scan the covers for people.

You would think, after a year, I would have written off the local english language bookstore. But no, I had to go in looking for ANYTHING new to read.......

And took a look at their "Science Fiction - Fantasy" series, which is usually 100% Robert Jordan, though occasionally you can find Terry Brooks in there as well.

It's now 60% Robert Jordan and 40% Jean Auel

Gahhh.

I'm amazed they can even *sell* Jean Auel in an Islamic country. Some of those books are protoporn........

Admittedly, Auel is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, for all I joke about the main character eventually inventing the wheel, the electric light, the internal combustion engine, and nuclear fusion........

Scott Adams wants a secret society in charge...

Secret Society

"My favorite conspiracy theory is the one that says the world is being run by a handful of ultra-rich capitalists, and that our elected governments are mere puppets. I sure hope it’s true. Otherwise my survival depends on hordes of clueless goobers electing competent leaders. That’s about as likely as a dog pissing the Mona Lisa into a snow bank.

The only way I can get to sleep at night is by imagining a secret cabal of highly competent puppetmasters who are handling the important decisions while our elected politicians debate flag burning and the definition of marriage.

It’s the only explanation for how the governments of the world could be staffed with morons and yet everything still runs okay, sort of. Granted, things aren’t perfect, but when you hear our leaders talk, you have to wonder why our energy policy doesn’t involve burning asbestos on playgrounds. There must be some competent people pulling the strings behind the curtain, adjusting the money supply, twiddling with interest rates, choosing the winners for American Idol, and that sort of thing."

Heinz to offer custom labels

"Capitalizing on the 130th anniversary of its most famous product, the H.J. Heinz Co. has created a special Web site allowing consumers to create their own ketchup bottle labels.

At myheinz.com, users can show off their wit, be sentimental or use any wording for a unique tag to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or any special occasion.

"We realized our consumers have really enjoyed the many witty phrases and catchy quips that appeared on the Heinz keystone-shaped labels in recent years," said Wendy Joyce, senior brand manager for Heinz ketchup. "Now, we're giving consumers a chance to create their own, one-of-a-kind phrase on Heinz bottles for a unique and surprising way to say something special."
