Okay, did LiveJournal make a mistake in how they handled the claims from that weird "Warriors of Innocence" group, (which is what, three people and a webpage?)

Yes.

Have they admitted they made a mistake??

Yes.

Do people have to keep committing necrophilliatic sadomachoistic bestiality with an equine??

NO!!!

Between this and this drama llama attack over on [livejournal.com profile] abandonedplaces, (which basically boiled down to moderator explaining rules that have been there since the community was started, before he even took over, and people going "waaa! waaa! We don't want to follow the rules! waaaa! waaaa! You all are being nasty bigots and racists! waaaa! waaaa! We're taking our ball and playing elsewhere and YOU'LL BE SORRY! waaaaaa!")

Mercury Retrograde?? More like Mercury is in the 3rd house of the Drama Llama, Random Angst in midheaven, with Wanking ascendant

Gahhhhh!!

Not sure I buy into parts of this though...

Who's sleeping around? Scientists can tell

"People who are socially dominant and either very friendly or very antagonistic tend to be more sexually promiscuous, according to a new study.

Friendly, warm people may enjoy sharing their warmth with others by sleeping with them, whereas antagonistic people may sleep around to avoid having a monogamous relationship. And having a dominant personality makes it easier to approach potential partners.

Past studies have suggested that people who are dominant tend to have more sexual partners than people who are submissive, but there has been little research into whether a person’s level of interpersonal warmth — the way in which they interact with others — affects their sexual actions.

I've heard a lot about Shin Ramyun Korean Ramen, so I decided to give a member of the family a try

Namely the Shin Cup cup noodle style ramen.

On one hand, very good. The chunks of mushroom are very nice indeed, and it's got good texture and flavour.

On the other hand, WHEE! SPICY!! The first time I tried it, I literally could not finish it it was so spicy. The second time, I knew what I was getting into. Dark red and spicy broth, lots of flavour.

I still prefer Indomie, but I'll accept this as an alternative

Let me get this straight....

Firefighters in the Manchester Fire Service are allowed to rest between training.

But it was decided that beds were too much of a distraction, and could lead to sleeping, which is not allowed.

Out go the beds.

In go £400 airplane-style recliners. Total cost is £130,000

Then the fire service HR department tells the firefighters they can't USE the recliners until they have been trained in their proper use.

Further more, they are NOT allowed to use their own bedding, only properly issued airline-style blankets.

Several firefighters, including a watch commander, decide it's more comfortable to bring their own sleeping bags and bed down on the floor.

HR inspectors find the sleeping bags, decide they're a hazard, and bring disiplinary action against the offending firefighters.........

*faceplant*

You know, considering these people are trained in the use of very expensive and dangerous equipment, and are trained for a very dangerous job, you would THINK that maybe, just maybe, they could be treated like adults rather than 3 year olds.......

Firemen feel the heat for sleeping on the floor

I was thinking about the article I posted yesterday about the Department of Homeland Security using Sci-Fi writers, (Niven, Pournelle, Bear, among others) as a think tank to help defend against terrorists.

Then I thought of a couple SF writers I would like to see on that (Bujold, Weber, maybe Ringo)

And some I wouldn't want anywhere NEAR the idea (Stirling, maybe not Ringo)

Then my brain went "Hmmm, what about fantasy writers?"

And I got the immediate mental image of Department of Homeland Security policies and senarios......written by Robert Jordan.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(runs and hides in the corner)
